Many people seems to expect think of army or national service as a form of torture, wasting 2 & 1/2 years of splendid youth. Not denying, I once thought as such.

Well, you can people do grow up. Though I still have the notion that those years spent in green were long past and unmemorisable, they do spell that I have grown up instead of any other thing.

Cooping you up in barracks doesn't really kill, but it really gets shelled up if you've got nothing to enrich yourself with. Many of my peers join their sports love like Canoeing, Dragonboat, Rock-climbing or Orchestrical performances.... . I've again been left out of this outdoor sagas due to lethargic side-effects attained after warfare training activities, resulting in regret and remorse.

However, I 'm more mature and considerate(at least well better than 3 years back). This due to the fact that living together in groups bring about self-reliance & caring for others. It is important that one must work cohesively with team/section members to complete tasks, however unexpected or unexplained situations do exists and one has to be flexible, not just to follow standard operational procedures, enhancing the fact that this is a ever changing society, depicting changes constantly.

Still remembering our last OC(officer commanding) LT Daniel Tan, who commanded total respect for his swift & mutually respected manner of operating a combat team. This held several of his colleages dumbfounded when our company obtained unexpected excellent results in morale and combat tests.

Last but not the least, I want really to give credit to my platoon(Platoon 2) and the rest of Alpha company for growing up and suffering with me, enduring mosquito and leech bites in Asia regional overseas training(I got a bonus, stung by some BASTARDIC warps, landed in hospital for 3 days).
